Internship Opportunities

 

Prior to the end of Masters Course, the discipline has a mandatory course of internship for its fellow students as a pre-step to enter in professional life and take challenges in the relevant areas in country inside and outside. Numerous opportunities are open for the students to have internship in national and international organizations that deals with crime, law, human rights, policing and the core subject matters of the discipline. Among national organizations, previous students have completed their internship in top human rights organizations and security agencies like

 

  • Ain o Salish Kedra, Bangladesh;
  • Manabadhikar Bastabayan Sangshtha;
  • Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies;
  • Acid Survivors foundation;
  • Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers Association;
  • Security agencies like G4S, Elite force, Integrated Security Service, Securex, Sentry Security Ltd., Asporous Security Service Ltd etc.

 

The students of the department have also the opportunity of internship in international organizations like
  • United Nations Development Programs (UNDP);
  • Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB);
  • International Organization of Migration (IOM);
  • International Labour Organization (ILO);
  • The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF);
  • Save the Children in Bangladesh

 

In abroad the students can pursue internship in renowned organizations like  The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), The United Nations African Institute For The Prevention Of Crime And The Treatment Of Offender (UNAFRI), Global Counterterrorism Forum(GCTF), The Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF), Korean Institute of Criminology(KIC), International Labour Organization (ILO), Geneva, United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), Turin, Italy, International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC), Montreal, Canada, European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control, affiliated with the United Nations (HEUNI), Helsinki, Finland. In the mean time, one of the students of the department has successfully completed his Masters internship under the Terrorism Prevention Branch of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in United Nations Regional Headquarter, Vienna, Austria.
